"Implications of Invisibility"
Lemuria Music 2010

|
Released on my own label, Lemuriamusic in 2010.
This is a more driving, hard rock recording, with shorter songs.Still has a "progressive edge" to it, but a more straight-forward songwriting approach was used.

E Motive
Broken Neesh 1998
 |
E-motive was a wonderfully talented group with all their own material that I sang with between1997-1998.The music for this recording was nearly complete when I joined up with these guys and contributed lyrics, Vocals and Acoustic Guitar. I contributed one of my songs "A Gathering of Days" to this release. .Did some fun shows with them (in support for Fish from Marillion, etc.)
I ended up re-locating to California about a year later, so I was unable to continue...I wish them well.

"Mermaid in the Mist" by Louie Mastro was a CD I supplied some Vocals and Guitars to in 1994. Louie passed away just months after it's actual release on Mellow Records in 1996. He was the original Keyboard player in my first Prog group "Lunar Sea".

Supper's Ready
Genesis Tribute
Magna Charta 1995
 |
Single: "Undertow"
Jay Tausig - Vocals & Electric Guitars
Daniel Todd Carter - Drums
David Hentschel - Keyboards
I remember the offer to be on this CD very well. It was a Sunday, around 10AM, and Mike Varney was on the line asking me if I knew who David Hentschel was. (Genesis producer, played Synthesizer with Elton John amongst many other great accomplishments). "Of course" was my response.
He said "that's good because he's on the other line. I remember pinching myself to make sure it was real, and not some kind of strange dream. We decided on "Undertow" and the rest, they say, is history. He was wrongly credited as a Co-Producer (oops, sorry David!) when he actually supplied all of the Keyboard parts and Synth bass. This was my Debut as a recording artist and I am very grateful to Mike, David and Magna Charta for the opportunity to produce, sing and play guitar on this great song. |
The Fox Lies Down
Genesis Tribute
Purple Pyramid 1998
 |
Single: "Visions of Angels"
Daevid Allen - Lead and Backing Vocals
Jay Tausig - Keyboards. Electric and Acoustic Guitars
Daniel Todd Carter- Electronic Drums
Sean MacGregor - Bass
This was the second Genesis tribute CD I was involved with. Daevid Allen of Gong recorded his vocals in Australia at Harry Williamson's studio, while "Solid Space" recorded the music in New York. Mixed at Roger Hodgson's in Northern California, using 2 ADAT's and a basic Yamaha Mixer. |
Schizoid Dimension
King Crimson Tribute
Cleopatra 1997
 |
Single: "In The Wake of Poseidon"
Jay Tausig - Mellotron, Electric and Acoustic Guitars
Daniel Todd Carter- Drums, Mellotron
Sean MacGregor: Bass
Another "Solid Space" recording. "In the Wake of Poseidon" was (and still is) one of my Favorite King Crimson songs. This was recorded at Music Unlimited, Bronx NY and Mixed at Alien Flyer by Steven Seltzer. The basic tracks were dubbed to 2 inch tape and then the Mellotron sounds, Bass and the Vocals were then added. I remember a great deal of time was spent removing the artifactes of the click track from Dan the drummer's headphones which were revealed later on. The rest of the session went fairly quickly and was completely fun to be a part of..
My beloved Les Paul custom was sold to pay for the Master DAT to be released. A great deal of sacrifice just to be on this cd.
Very honored to be a part of it though.

"Slender Threads"
"On Tuesdays (She Used to do Yoga)"

A tribute to Van Der Graff Generator. I recorded three songs for this one., and somehow they all ended up on this fantastic 2 CD set. Needless to say I am very grateful to have been a part of this compilation.
Peter Hammill is an incredible songwriter and performer whose influence in felt in a great many an artist's work. Myself included.
